Food For thought

Vision is a thinking process. Yet not many people realize how much

your vision can fool you.

Perception is vulnerable to illusion. The mind is actually hiding

95 percent of your awareness based on your awareness.

Not many people know their vision and their health may be in jeopardy.

A thorough eye exam not only assesses what you can see, but also

what you cannot. I have been examining eyes for 40 years now and leave

no possible test to an assumption.

A THOROUGH eye examination involves:

Measurement of Visual Acuity, muscle testing, examination of the

exterior of the eye, eye lids, and interior structures with a microscope.

Assessment of the pressure in the eyes as well as focusing ability and

the movement of the eyes together and independently.

A Visual field analysis to measure the visual processes in the eye and

behind the eye all the way to the back of the head in the Visual Cortex.

Many conditions concerning the visual field sensitivity can detect

issues such as glaucoma, stroke, pituitary gland disease as well as

number of conditions like Multiple sclerosis. A visual field analysis

allows us to find out what you don’t see, as the brain tends to fill in the

perception of vision.

Optical Coherent Tomography is the latest in diagnostic testing. Using

an Infrared Laser we are able to map the structures of the eye down to

0.05 Microns making the actual retina and optic nerve tissues visible as

the tissues are actually transparent. It is remarkable to be able to detect

conditions like diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration as well as

tumors long before they have any detectable effect on your vision.

A thorough eye examination can take anywhere from 1 to 1 and

a half hours.

Not much time in your life to assure visual and general health.
